I am an experienced tax investigations and dispute resolution expert.

I have been working in tax since starting as a filing clerk with the Inland Revenue in 1987!

I then expanded my general tax experience in the early 1990s, by working in a newly established tax department for a local firm of Chartered Accountants. I then joined a specialist tax investigations insurance provider and became national claims manager, seeing thousands of different types of HMRC investigations and enquiries.

I subsequently joined a small London based tax investigations team for Big 5 global accounting firm and over 20 years helped develop that team to become one of the industry’s leading players. After leaving in 2021 and, following periods with a London based mid-tier firm and a bespoke tax investigations provider, I set up Morley Tax in 2025.

I am a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), a Fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians (FTT) and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

I set up Morley Tax because I am passionate about helping clients deal with HMRC tax investigations as well as guiding clients through voluntary disclosures. I often build close working relationships with my clients which is crucial when dealing with the emotional roller coaster of interacting with HMRC.

Outside of work, my interests include supporting Colchester United FC (Up the U’s!), taking an occasional dip in the River Blackwater as a ‘basin bobber’ as well as enjoying my local Essex countryside either on two legs walking our dogs or on two wheels on the motorbike.
